The Congress in Goa on Saturday filed a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) demanding action against BJP national president Amit Shah for making a communal statement at a rally in West Bengal on Thursday. “We have promised in our manifesto that once Narendra Modi forms a government once again, we will implement National Register of Citizens in the entire country. We will remove every single infiltrator from the country, except Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs,” Mr. Shah is reported to have said during a poll campaign rally in West Bengal, the complaint notes.“This is a direct threat to Christians, Muslims and those communities who have not found mention in the BJP leader’s speech, who are living in Goa, and who fear the definition of infiltrators will be used against them to dislodge them from Goa and India,” Goa Congress chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar said in his complaint, demanding to file a criminal complaint against Mr. Shah.Mr. Kawthankar stated that the statement violated Article 25-28 of the Indian Constitution. The Congress spokesperson said minorities comprise over one-third of Goa’s population.

She doesn’t know where her home is. Some 20 years ago, she was kidnapped from her village and then abandoned on the streets of Kolkata. The police had handed over the seven-year-old Shazadi to an orphanage. Fate intervened and she was adopted by a Swiss couple and has lived in Zurich ever since. She is a now a successful professional and speaks only European languages, but is still searching for her true identity. It is a difficult task. All she remembers about her parents is that her mother used to roll bidis and her father was a barber and sported a beard. “They were probably Muslim,” Shazadi writes in a letter to Delhi Police, whom she approached through family friends.Though her mission has evoked much sympathy, the police have little to go on. The only clues are hazy memories of her village. There used to be lots of coal all around, she recalls. Her house had a flat roof and a red terrace and her school was nearby. “I had two school uniforms. One was green with black squares and the other orange,” says Shazadi, but can’t recall the school’s name.Shazadi was most probably a Bengali as she could understand the language spoken in the Kolkata orphanage. She also had a sister who was kidnapped along with her, but got separated from her.She remembers a baby brother who “was crying like hell” during his circumcision ceremony which was attended by the whole neighbourhood. She also has some vague memories of fasting during Ramzan- “We used to eat only in the evening.”advertisementBut for the police-who believe that Shazadi is from West Bengal or Bihar- the most valuable clues to her past are her recollections of the visit of then prime minister Indira Gandhi to her village.Says Delhi Police’s Crime Branch DCP M.S. Upadhaye: “It was probably during the 1977 elections. Once we get Indira Gandhi’s schedule records, we will be able to narrow our search.” Indira Gandhi’s itinerary is Shazadi’s best hope of locating her natural parents.

Bhagwan Raiyani, well known judicial activist, who led the march, said he would carry forward this cause of judicial reform to a logical end. Hello and welcome to our Live Coverage of match No. 48 of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. (POINTS TABLE | SCORECARD)HYDERABAD INNINGS:23.26 IST: Hyderabad were exceptional today and they have gathered a victory against the table toppers. They started off beautifully with the ball where they restricted the tourists to a total under 140. Such a total would have never been enough against a side who posses the line-up such as the home side. The away side sniffed some respite when they sent home Warner early.23.25 IST: HYDERABAD WIN BY 7 WICKETS AND 10 BALLS TO SPARE! That should do it, Vijay Shankar finishes it off in style. It’s on a fuller length around off, Shankar gives it the full swing of the bat and lofts it over wide mid on. Falls just inside the rope and goes across on a bounce for a boundary. A comfortable win the end.SRH need 3 runs off 12 balls. What we need right now is a miraculous couple of overs.#CricketMeriJaan #SRHvMI #MI- Mumbai Indians (@mipaltan) 8 May 2017SRH need 1?0? runs off 1?8? balls. Can this over turn the game on its head?#CricketMeriJaan #SRHvMI #MI- Mumbai Indians (@mipaltan) 8 May 201723.14 IST: NOT OUT! Short and going down the leg side, Shankar looks to pull and there’s a loud appeal from Parthiv Patel as he collects the ball. He’s screaming but the umpire isn’t interested. Umpire signals a wide.Get out of the corn lads! Yuvraj Singh’s struggling innings comes to an end. Length ball slanting away, Yuvraj looks to loft it over the off side but takes his bottom hand off as he plays this. He ends up slicing it over towards sweeper cover where Hardik Pandya comes running in to take the catch. He walks off looking at his finger, probably best his stay has ended. Hyderabad are in a comfortable position right now anyway. SRH 112/3 (14.4 overs) vs MI 138/723.01 IST: FIFTY! Shikhar Dhawan slams his 28th fifty. Has looked supremely confident since the beginning of the innings, deserves to reach this milestone. It’s a length ball on the pads, he just clips this down to fine leg for a single. SRH 110/2 (14.1 overs) vs MI 138/722.58 IST: FOUR! Short and into the body, Yuvraj puts this away with a pull over square leg. Picks up a boundary as the ball goes across the rope.22.47 IST: WICKET! Bumrah gets a wicket, but is it a little too late for Mumbai? There’s no real celebration from the away side. Full around off, the slower one, Henriques looks to flick across the line but closes the face a bit too early. It goes off the leading edge and lobs towards extra cover. The two Sharma’s go for it, but it’s ultimately the skipper who takes it. SRH 98/2 (12.1 overs) vs MI 138/7Back-to-back boundaries from Mozzie. Lovely loopy leg spinner pitched outside off, just back of a driving length, Dhawan looks to drive it through the covers but is beaten. Patel whips the bails off and appeal for a stumping as he feels Dhawan’s back leg is out of his crease. It goes upstairs and replays show the left-hander is safe.22.30 IST: FOUR! Tossed up on the pads, Dhawan kneels down to this and sweeps this through backward square leg. The placement is too good so the man in the deep cannot stop it. It goes across the rope for a boundary.22.26 IST: FOUR! Brilliant shot! Mitchell McClenaghan strikes on his very first ball! That’s plumb. Quick and straight into the stumps, Warner tries to clip it on the leg side. Misses it completely and gets hit flush on the back pad. The players appeal and the umpire raises his dreaded finger. Warner has to walk back early to the hut. SRH restrict Mumbai to 138/7. Length delivery angling across, McClenaghan heaves it across the line along the ground. Runs the first one hard and comes back for the second as the man from wide long on throws is back in. Mumbai have posted a below par score on the board. After electing to bat first, Lendl Simmons departed early. Parthiv Patel kept on ticking but he hardly could punish the bad balls. Rana could not make a mark and Hardik also struggled to score in the middle. Their skipper Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 67 off 45 balls to keep the visitors in the contest. None of the lower order batsmen could make a difference with the bat.21.31 IST: WICKET! Bhuvneshwar gets his wicket No. 22 in IPL 2017. Bhuvneshwar bowls a low full toss on leg, Kieron Pollard looks to clear the mid-wicket rope with a slog but finds the fielder in the deep. Vijay Shankar out there has this right down his throat and he takes a good catch. MI 132/6 (19.1 overs) vs SRH21.35 IST: WICKET! Edged and taken. Karn Sharma is gone. Bhuvi bowls a cross seam delivery well outside off, the southpaw looks to get some bat on it and manages only a faint edge. It’s taken by the keeper behind and that’s another wicket for the Indian pacer.Match 48. 18.6: S Kaul to K Sharma, 4 runs, 132/5 https://t.co/h3ogovdQd7 #SRHvMI- IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) 8 May 201721.26 IST: WICKET! Kaul strikes again and this time he gets Rohit Sharma. He’s dragged that on! Short and wide outside off, Rohit Sharma goes for the big pull. Back of a length delivery which keeps a touch low, Rohit Sharma hangs back and cuts it to backward point where Yuvraj Singh makes a good diving stop to his right. Seems to have hurt his hand though in the process. Single taken.advertisement21.12 IST: FIFTY! Rohit Sharma slams his 32nd half-century in IPL. Full toss on off, Rohit Sharma drives it straight back. Hits the stumps at the other end and the ball ricochets towards mid on. Takes a single and reaches his milestone. MI 102/4 (15.2 overs) vs SRH21.08 IST: WICKET! Rashid Khan breaks the dangerous 60-run stand. The bowling change works. Rashid strikes on his return to the attack. Gives this plenty of flight and floats it around off, Hardik Pandya kneels down and plays the slog sweep, looking to clear the mid-wicket fence. Gets a big top edge instead and it balloons to Moises Henriques at extra cover. He settles himself under the ball and takes a good reverse cup catch. Kaul gets his second! Knuckle ball on a fuller length into the stumps, Patel tries to go downtown. Hardly get any power on it and the ball just crosses the infield. Mentions that they are playing with the same team.19.30 IST: Mumbai bat, Kane Williamson misses out for HyderabadBrief Preview:Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will be desperate to win their final home match today against top-placed Mumbai Indians in order to seal their play-offs berth of the ongoing Indian Premier League.Hyderabad have 13 points from 12 matches and are fourth in the points table. One more win will likely take them through to the play-offs and due to their superb home record, they will be eager to bag two points at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.Out of the six matches at home, the David Warner-led side has won five, while winning only once in away matches. Hence, before travelling to Kanpur to face Gujarat Lions, they will like to win at home. But Hyderabad, who are coming off with two consecutive losses against Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiant, need to raise their game against two-time champions Mumbai, who have won nine of their 11 matches so far.Hyderabad failed to defend a total of 185 against Delhi away and then were unable to chase a target of 140 against Pune at home to suffer their first defeat at home. For Hyderabad, their middle and lower middle-order has been a cause of concern and they can’t always depend on David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson to fire. Yuvraj Singh and Moises Henriques have been inconsistent, while wicket-keeper Naman Ojha is yet to make an impact with his bat. Hyderabad need to correct this with key matches coming. On the bowling front, the home side will rely on Purple Cap holder Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Afghanistan’s teenaged leg-spinner Rashid Khan to deliver the goods again. The responsibility will also be on Ashish Nehra and Siddharth Kaul.It will not be a bad idea if captain David Warner revisits the option of including spinning all-rounder Bipul Sharma as he hasn’t looked confident in his late appearances. They will be up against a side that has all bases covered — a simple reason for their success.Mumbai on Saturday showed in their huge 146-run triumph over Delhi Daredevils that they will be ruthless in their push for the top two spots at the end of the league phase. They posted 212/3 in 20 overs before bowling out Delhi for their lowest score of 66 in 13.2 overs.Mumbai bowlers hunt as a team and the experience and variety they possess must be a captain’s dream. While pacers Mitchell McClenaghan, Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah all have the calibre to do well at any phase of the innings, veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and young leg-spinner Karn Sharma are a near-perfect pair to choke runs as well as pick wickets. Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal, are also there to provide more depth in both batting and bowling.Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard, Parthiv Patel, Rohit Sharma and this edition’s revelation Nitish Rana have been in sizzling form and it will be a tough ask for Hyderabad to trouble this batting line-up.

Health Minister, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, is calling on Jamaicans to “get back to the basics of health” by practising a healthy lifestyle and reducing risks of accidents and injuries. Dr. Tufton said that there is significant demand on the public health system, with hospital and health centre visits reaching 1.2 million and 1.9 million, respectively, in 2017. There were 187,000 hospital admissions last year. He said that the responsibility for health and wellness begins with each individual, and with “how we live in the environment, interact with each other, how we treat ourselves and a recognition that health and wellness starts at the community level”. Story Highlights Health Minister, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, is calling on Jamaicans to “get back to the basics of health” by practising a healthy lifestyle and reducing risks of accidents and injuries. He argued that “as a consequence of our own actions, we have impacted our state of public health and the demand on the system”.He said that the responsibility for health and wellness begins with each individual, and with “how we live in the environment, interact with each other, how we treat ourselves and a recognition that health and wellness starts at the community level”.“Many of the demands for more and better healthcare would not have been there if, at the community level, people were practising some very basic healthy behaviour,” he stressed. The country, he said, has lost its way in that regard and needs to “get back to basics”.“Public health is not just about the number of hospitals we have or surgeries we can perform. Those represent the manifestation of a society that has missed the core fundamentals and principles of sustainable health and wellness,” Dr. Tufton said. “Jamaicans must get back to the basics of promoting and living a life in the interest of our community – that is, the practise of preventative healthcare. These habits would lead to less pressure on the system,” the Minister contended. He was speaking at a ceremony last Thursday (May 3) to officially open the newly expanded Portsea Health Centre in St. Elizabeth.Dr. Tufton said that there is significant demand on the public health system, with hospital and health centre visits reaching 1.2 million and 1.9 million, respectively, in 2017. There were 187,000 hospital admissions last year. The Minister estimates that 70 per cent of visits to accident and emergency departments were for injuries related to traffic accidents and crime and violence.“Statistics of road accidents in Jamaica show that human error, breaches of the road code, drinking and driving, faulty tyres, improper overtaking all combine to create a demand on the accident and emergency ward. Trauma cases related to domestic violence also fill the accident and emergency wards daily,” he said.Dr. Tufton noted that lifestyle conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease were also putting a strain on the health system. He said that seven out of every 10 deaths in Jamaica were linked to preventable lifestyle illnesses.“Could these have been prevented given our consumption of salt, sugar, fat, alcohol and smoking?” Dr. Tufton asked, highlighting the need for moderation in consumption habits.Three treatment rooms were added to the Portsea Health Centre at a cost of $5 million. The facility, which was built in the 1950s, provides child/maternal care, antenatal/postnatal care, nutrition advice, curative services, disease control and much more, five days per week. It serves 4,000 residents with about 300 visits monthly.

YouTube ScreenshotMammootty’s ‘Madhura Raja’ released on April 12 has completed its one-week box-office run all across the world, and it is slowly emerging as the biggest blockbuster in the career of the megastar. As per latest updates, ‘Madhura Raja’ has collected more than Rs 20 crore from Kerala box-office alone, and considering the booking statuses for this weekend, the figure may surpass Rs 25 crore by the end of this weekend.’Madhura Raja’ can be considered as a comeback movie of Mammootty who continuously failed to make strong impacts at the box-office in the past few years. Even though movies like ‘The Great Father’ and ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’ received positive responses from critics, these films failed to make it big at the box-office, despite bolstering collection figures publicized by the fans of the actor.’Madhura Raja’ received a grand opening in its opening day from theatres all across Kerala. It collected more than Rs 4.2 crore from Kerala in its opening day, while the worldwide collection was a whopping Rs 9 crore. In its opening weekend, ‘Madhura Raja’ collected Rs 11 crore from the Kerala box-office. Even though the film faced a small setback in weekdays, the collections have started improving from Friday evening shows. In the meantime, Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ is also enjoying a steady run at the box-office. The film has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, and trade experts believe that this film is going to emerge as an industry hit at Mollywood box-office. However, Tamilrockers has recently released the pirated copy of ‘Lucifer’ online, and it may affect the collection of the movie in the coming days.Vyshakh who previously made ‘Pulimurugan’ the reigning industry hit of Mollywood has directed ‘Madhura Raja’. Through ‘Madhura Raja’, Vyshakh has once again proved that he is the SS Rajamouli of Mollywood who can craft beautiful movies even using average scripts. The film features Mammootty in the role of Raja, a comic goon who fights against the evils in the society. Apart from the megastar, ‘Madhura Raja’ also stars Anusree, Jagapathi Babu, Salim Kumar, Nedumudi Venu and Vijayaraghavan in other prominent roles.
Shares of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd flared on the BSE on Monday in response to the buzz that the government may eventually deregulate kerosene prices on the lines of diesel and cooking gas.ONGC shares were up 4.23 percent at Rs. 233.85 apiece, while Oil India was trading with gains of 3.34 percent at Rs. 374.20 on the BSE at around 1.40 p.m.The government hiked kerosene prices by 50 paise per litre last week after almost five years. The under-recovery in case of kerosene for July will be Rs. 13.12 per litre, up from Rs. 11.73 in June, according to a government statement. The likely deregulation of the commodity is being seen as a positive for ONGC and other state-run oil firms.”We believe the government may do a deregulation in kerosene prices also after diesel deregulation. The rise in kerosene prices by the government may be marginal but all these steps are positive for upstream firms and oil marketing companies”, brokerage Motilal Oswal said in a note on July 1, as reported by the Mint. “We view this as a directionally positive step as it’s indicative of the governments desire to reduce kerosene subsidy,” the brokerage further said.ONGC and Oil India are classified as upstream oil companies. The news also saw shares of state-run oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) rise, though not as high as those of ONGC. IOC shares were up 1.27 percent, while BPCL and HPCL shares were each trading with gains of 1.42 percent. The rise in global crude oil prices and the consequent periodical increases in domestic diesel and petrol prices were also seen as contributing to the bullish sentiments on these stocks. “…the way petrol and diesel price changes are happening, I think that is giving a lot of confidence. So these stocks will now keep moving up in comparison to overall market PE, in comparison to overall portfolio weightage because of their own weightage,” Amisha Vora, Joint MD at brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher, told ET Now.BPCL shares hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs. 1,110.60 on Monday and were trading at Rs. 1,105.60, up 1.25 percent on the BSE at around 1.51 p.m.In a note in May this year, HDFC Securities projected improved prospects for state-run BPCL due to improved gross refining margin (GRM), lower interest burden and higher sales of petroleum products. The company’s GRM rose from $3.6 per barrel in 2014-15 to $6.6 in 2015-16. However, HDFC Securities also said that GRM could fall in the coming months. “Low crude prices have led to a robust demand in end products. However, we believe refining margins have peaked and a sequential decline may start soon,” it said in a research note.
Law minister Anisul HuqLaw minister Anisul Huq on Sunday expressed the hope that the gazette notification on discipline and conduct rules for lower court judges will be issued by next 15 July, reports UNB.The minister said this while talking to reporters after attending a programme at Judicial Administration Training Institute. The issuance of the gazette notification is being delayed as all the relevant issues of the gazette are being scrutinised so that no question could be raised over it, he added.Stressing the need for ‘quality judiciary’ to establish the rule of law in the country, Anisul Huq said the government is committed to ensuring ‘quality judicial’ services for people.Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court gave the government two more weeks to publish the gazette notification on the rules outlining discipline and conduct of lower court judges. On several occasions in the past, the apex court expressed dissatisfaction at the government’s failure to issue the gazette notification.

January 7, 2013 — Fovia Medical Inc. and Blackford Analysis Ltd. announced plans to deliver compatible SDKs to the medical advanced visualization market.Blackford Analysis’s Blackford Fusion software accelerates the challenging process of image study comparison by enabling radiologists to pinpoint areas of interest in one study and have those areas instantly, automatically and accurately linked to the same points in separate magnetic resonance imaging (MR), computed tomography (CT) or positron emission tomography (PET) scans. Concurrently, Fovia’s scalable, CPU-based, thin-client HDVR software provides critical advanced visualization “on-the-fly” via the cloud, local networks or as an integrated component of existing architectures.By combining Blackford Fusion and HDVR technologies, a medical original equipment manufacturer can deliver ubiquitous, split-second access to automatically registered datasets, thereby enabling radiologists to spend more time on analysis and decision-making. As volumetric datasets increase in size and complexity, this combined power will become an essential component in every OEM’s offering.“Fovia is a recognized leader in the advanced visualization field, and we are excited to integrate with their best-in-class volume rendering engine,” said Ben Panter, chief executive officer of Blackford Analysis. “Together our technologies can improve radiology productivity and increase the success rate of patient treatment.”“We are thrilled to have a partner with complementary, high-performance software that is literally out-of-this world,” said Ken Fineman, chief executive officer of Fovia, who commented on Blackford Analysis’s astrophysics-based algorithms. “Our SDKs work well together, providing immediate benefits for medical vendors, radiologists and most importantly, patients.”For more information: www.fovia.com FacebookTwitterLinkedInPrint分享 Technology | Neuro Imaging | August 07, 2019 Synaptive Medical Launches Modus Plan With Automated Tractography Segmentation Synaptive Medical announced the U.S. launch and availability of Modus Plan featuring BrightMatter AutoSeg.
