Stay on target Dr. Dabber’s Boost Is a Fine Vape and That’s About ItQuickDraw 500-DLX a Sure Fire Stand Out in Vape Tech Dr. Dabber’s Aurora is a portable, efficient, and well-constructed vape for the masses. At about $100, it compares favorably to just about everything else. The catch? It uses concentrate or oils instead of herbs. Taste and availability play second fiddle to portability and convenience. And for those looking to make the switch, the Aurora vape pen is a phenomenal little device. From the outset, you’d be surprised for what your money gets you — a large case, the pen, several interchangeable parts, and plenty more. And it doesn’t seem like Dr. Dabber’s skimped on anything. The pen is a sleek matte black that can break off into one of several pieces. The base houses most of the hardware, including the battery and power button. And when it’s time to charge, you simply detach the base and connect it to the charging station (which has a convenient nook for the rest of the pen to rest). Just above that is the atomizer — that’s where you’ll load your material when you’re ready. And then up top, you’ve got the ceramic mouthpiece (which comes in one of several shapes) and an additional section that spaces out the pen so that vapor coming from the atomizer has to cool as you inhale. Each part connects with magnets that snap together. It’s a nice touch that helps the pen feel like a premium product (belying its price point), but they’re also a little loose and can be knocked apart if you’re not careful. So if you’re stashing the pen into your back pocket, it’s worth checking that you still have everything. When it comes time to use the pen, the set-up can be a little tricky. You can select one of three temperatures by clicking the main power button three times quickly. Then, you turn it on by clicking the button five times and then holding for the duration of your session. That can be a bit to remember, and it’s worth noting that the air intake can be quite easy to cover accidentally.Cleaning the Aurora is quick and easy. Soak a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and give the atomizer a quick wipe, then hold down the power button to burn off cotton threads from the swab, and you’re good to go.There are some valid concerns with the extremely high heat used for concentrates and oils, but that aside the Aurora is an exceptional device at a stunning price.
